Bilberries are rich in a flavonoid known as 'anthocyanoside' which helps to improve blood flow and the delivery of oxygen to the eyes. The flavanoid complex in Bilberries also helps to speed up the regeneration of the purple pigment that is used by the rods in the eye for vision.

Each tablet provides the equivalent to 500mg of Bilberry Fruit Extract.

 

Bilberry is a small deciduous shrub that grows throughout the temperate and subarctic regions of the world. The shrub is part of the same family as the Blueberry, Blackberry and Grape.

Bilberry Extract has been used for many years to improve eyesight. It is thought that the flavonoid  ‘anthocyanoside’ which is abundant in Bilberries, helps to improve blood flow and the delivery of oxygen to the eyes . Anthocyanoside is also thought to regenerate Rhodopsin, the purple pigment in the retina that is required for good night vision.

During the Second World War, RAF pilots noticed a marked improvement in their night vision after eating Bilberry jam!

Bilberry extract has also been shown to help with other eye conditions such as cataracts and degenerative retinal conditions such as age related macular degeneration.

Dosage

Take two to three tablets a day with food. Daily dose can be taken in one serving.
